Hoagie's Predicament

Last Wednesday called me up with a shock.

I had taken Hoagie in for an ultrasound in another attempt to find out the cause of his appetite loss and vomiting. For several months, Hoagie had been losing weight, randomly vomiting a fowl-smelling muck and generally appearing unhappy. Blood tests suggested only a slight case of pancreatitis - but the treatment for pancreatitis didn't offer much relief for the big guy (who was quickly losing his reputation as such).
Fortunately, and unfortunately, the ultrasound revealed a tumor (presumably benign) in his intestine causing a kitty kibble traffic-jam. An appointment was set up with a surgeon two days later to remove the offensive mass. A cause had been found, but the solution now loomed.

Is it preferable to develop a low risk ailment for life or a sudden high risk emergency curable in a day? Seems to depend on the time of the cure - past or future?

Now that the surgery is over and Hoagie cruised through, as Hoagies do, with no worries at all, I am relieved he is free of his original diagnosis.
Curiously, only forty-eight hours ago, I would have preferred to deal with pancreatitis... how quickly the events of the future can change the opinions of the past!
But what would an answer from Hoagie be?

commentGlad you were able to help Hoagie and get rid of his pain. Maybe a look into some different food my help even more for the future. We only say that because we have a fear of dry foods overall for cats.

Thanks... yes, the benefits of wet foods and raw foods are indeed popping up everywhere.
